1. Photographic charges for digital images
Please note that
- Harry Burton's photographs taken in the tomb of Tutankhamun are only
available in black and white. Use the
search entry form for Burton photographs or the
database
when selecting photographs.
- Some of the early digital images were scanned to 2,000
pixels along the longer dimension of the original and are available in
the jpg format; the majority of images have been scanned to 6,000 pixels (about
600 dpi) in the
tif as well as jpg formats. Please let us know if an even higher resolution
is needed.
- Large files cannot be emailed but can be uploaded to the customer's
ftp server, if available, or posted on CD.
- Postage and packing charges apply when images have to be posted on CD.
Images for commercial purposes
If circumstances permit, priority can be given to expedite an order at an
extra charge of £15.00 + VAT.
At the discretion of the Secretary, a discount of 20% on
reproduction charges can be given if more than 15 images are ordered. A
special rate may be used for items which are
unusually difficult to scan.
- There is a minimum charge of £20.00 per order.
- An existing scan emailed/posted on CD: £8.00 + VAT
- A new image scanned to a requested resolution/format and emailed/posted
on CD: £20.00 + VAT
- Black and white copy printed from an existing digital image: £1.00 + VAT
Images for academic/study purposes
A special rate may be used for items which are not standard flat
copies.
- There is a minimum charge of £20.00 per order.
- An existing scan emailed/posted on CD or a black and white copy printed:
£1.00 + VAT
- Images scanned to order: £3.00 +VAT per scan.
- In exceptional circumstances the charge may be waived.
2. Reproduction fees (per image)
The fee may be waived for reproduction in non-commercial Egyptological
publications. Please apply to the Secretary.
- Non-exclusive, one-time, single-medium, world-rights: £50.00 +
VAT (if a school or university textbook, £20.00 + VAT)
- Non-exclusive, one-time, multimedia, world-rights: £100.00 +
VAT
- If used as a book cover image or similar: non-exclusive,
one-time, world-rights: £70.00 +
VAT (if a school or university textbook, £30.00 + VAT)
The acknowledgement Copyright Griffith Institute, University of Oxford must appear
with each reproduction.
3. Postage and packing
£2 + VAT per order.
4. Research fee
Research carried out by staff £30.00 + VAT per hour.
