The crook is of wood covered with gesso-gilt and is like the
handle of the flail inlaid with deep blue faience.

The remainder of the body is decorated with 'rishi' (feather)
pattern in low relief. On the right and left side are figures
(auxiliary to the Rishi pattern) of the goddesses Isis (R) and
Nephthys (L), they are modelled in fine low relief and are
represented enclasping with their arms and wings the body of the
King.
Down the centre of the lid are two vertical lines of text - (see
P.E.N. note). Around the edges of the feet is a band of lotus and
papyrus pattern.
On the bottom of the feet worked in low relief is a figure of
Isis with open wings kneeling upon a Nub-sign and ten vertical
lines of inscription: -
