Treatment:

Washed with water.

Removed brown resinous-like material from outside with acetone. The dark brown pitch like material from inside was partly chipped out with a small chisel & the rest softened and removed with acetone.

Mended two small broken pieces on under side of lid and re-fastened in knobs with celluloid cement.
