Be a part of our future
The Griffith Institute exists today because of the extraordinary vision and generosity of Professor Francis Llewellyn Griffith, the first Professor of Egyptology at Oxford.
Professor Griffith made a gift in his will to Oxford University to establish a permanent home for the study of the ancient languages and antiquities of Egypt and the Near East. His remarkable legacy continues to inspire and educate scholars, students, and enthusiasts from around the world.
By supporting the Griffith Institute, you can become a vital part of this ongoing story. Your contribution will help preserve and expand our collections, support research, and ensure that future generations can explore the rich history of ancient Egypt.
There are several meaningful ways to make a lasting impact.
You can support the Griffith Institute today
The Griffith Institute is supported in part by Professor Griffith’s original endowment. However, to ensure the continuation and future expansion of our core projects we rely on philanthropy.Make a gift to the Griffith Institute.
The Griffith Institute welcomes donations at any level towards its general funds, which can then be applied to our priorities. Such support enables the realisation of projects ranging from digitising early excavation records to undertaking cataloguing and conservation. Our current priority is the upgrade of the Tutankhamun Archive online resources, which would also enable us to provide higher resolution images and additional documentation on our open-access website. You can support the Griffith Institute today.
You can contact us directly if you are thinking of supporting a specific project, such as the Tutankhamun Archive, the Griffith Institute Archive, the Topographical Bibliography, or the Online Egyptological Bibliography - griffith.institute@ames.ox.ac.uk.
