Animal sides (cont.) Nose, eye frames and drops of dark blue glass. Eyes of crystal with brownish hazel irises & black pupils. Corners painted red. Colours are painted behind crystal. Covered with gesso and overlaid with gold throughout. Ridge on inner side .8 wide to receive bed. Also 4 metal hooks projecting 2 from ridge. Two staples in each leg 10 and 27.4 respectively down from ridge to receive legs of bed proper. These were from 3 - 3.8 wide & projected about 2.6. On front of neck there had been a bird(??) in black paint.

Right. Similar to left, but tail takes a shorter curve. On L side of neck, partly covered by bed when in position, <> in black paint. In front of neck, under chin an <>.
