These were folded carefully into flat pads 12 x 5 x circ. 2. Originally each of them was tied round the middle by a single thread.

Cloth cut bias. Made in two pieces with a seam down the middle. Sewn together with a running over and over stitch, with dark thread. Top edge turned over .8 in centre and hemmed, narrowing down to a mere roll over at the corners. Sides rolled up to a cording and sewn.

Sprayed with a solution of cellulose acetate in acetone.
