Handlist description: 48 boxes of food offerings

Card/Transcription No.: 062-01

62. 48 boxes of food offerings.

Position Under central couch. No. 73.

See list and photos attached.

These forty-eight boxes of food offerings were placed upon a reed mat below the Hathor couch; they are made of wood; covered with gesso and painted white on the exterior, and the interior varnish with black resin; their contents as per list attached, were much deteriorated, and the various joints etc apparently not preserved before they were wrapped in linen bandages. A number of ideograms and words written in hieratic upon the exterior (generally underneath) seem to refer to the contents. (See list).
