3. Description Made of some soft wood, painted white throughout, inside also. Lid of three pieces of board, with slips, .5 wide, glued to either end to hold them together. Knob on lid begins 2.5 from edge. Back end of lid, where it thickens to the curve, broken off and missing. On lid two lines of hieratic inscription in black paint. For translation see note by A.H. Gardiner. Inside Construction see diagram on next sheet.

4. Contents Hieratic calls for razors and alabaster vases. Could razor have made use of the holes and slits. Alabasters might have gone in left hand partitions. In each partition there are remains of soft papyrus at bottom: ? was this original packing.
