Handlist description: Linen gauntlet

and consisted of a strip of linen bent double, & oversewn at the joined edges. They began 2.5, 13 & 22.5 from the bottom.

On under side of glove lining turned over outer edge a distance of 1.3.

As worn the narrow strip ran down upper part of arm, & wide part protected the whole of the under side. Outer fabric ran about 90 x 30: lining about 200 x 120.

Treatment: Sprayed with a solution of cellulose acetate in acetone.
