95. Decorated stick etc.

(a) Wooden stick, decorated with gold. Hard reddish wood, with knob. 1. Position Lying on floor, E - W, under throne. Original position doubtful.

2. Dimensions L. 82. Diam. of knob 3.5, of stick 2.2.

3. Description A. Gold leaf on gesso B. Single sheet of gold leaf on gesso. C. Band of thicker gold with spiral pattern. D. Plain wood. E. Band of gesso from which gold leaf had been stripped.

4. Treatment Wood washed with damp sponge. Gold leaf cleaned with ammonia & afterwards washed with water. Loose gold and loose gesso refastened with celluloid cement.
