Handlist description: Round-topped chest of ebony and painted white wood

3. Description Wooden box painted white throughout. Ebony veneer about .2 thick applied down legs and along top & bottom of sides and ends. Veneer fastened by small pegs .4 in diam. Possibly also with glue. Impossible on account of paint to tell for certain how corners fasten. May have been mitred but apparently not. Ends fit inside sides. All panels slightly recessed by thickness of veneer. Veneer down centre of lid, long ways, with inscription in yellow paint. At knob end painted panel of yellow, with hieroglyphs etc in blue. Inscription on knobs in blue. All inscriptions were incised in wood, and filled with paint. For inscriptions see Note by A. H. Gardiner.
