Handlist description: Chariot axle

120 

(a) Axle L. 216. From end to swell 42 at one end, 43 at other. Construction as in 122, but omitting the four pegs. Axle pins of wood above: below plain leather. i.e. chariot could not have been used. Sawn end = No. 71. Decoration Exactly similar to 122, with exception that on either side of the inlaid bands there were extra applied bands of electrum 2 wide. These in addition to the usual applied rope patterns bands.

<> Inscr. on inlaid bands.

Central plaque also had no band of inlay below, place being taken by plain gold. Also no eyes & nefers. Treatment Cleaned with warm water & ammonia. Repaired with glue. Treated with hot paraffin wax.

(b) Pole Construction exactly similar to 122. Max. L. (see later when cloth removed).
