159 = 120 (d) Wooden yoke from (curricle-like) harness.

1. Position S.E. Corner of chamber: behind wheels 144 & 145.

2. Dimensions Max. length 85.5

3. Description For shape & construction see diagram of 163. Same parts as in 163 covered with leather. Whole of remainder covered with gesso & gold. Hooks in this yoke are made by captive figures (see phot.). Both Asiatic? One of them has a cloth representation of a turban, with a band of gold on upper part 1 wide. The other has a head-dress of calcite <> shape, 4 high. This figure also has details of clothing worked out in inlay of coloured faience or glass. On upper part of arms on each side two extra applied bands of gold, 1.2 wide, with incised decoration.
