F. Shaded bands are coloured barks, plain bands gold leaf. G. Gold leaf H. & J Coloured barks I & K Gold leaf.

Covering greater part of A a binding of leather strip 1 wide. In K, starting 1 from end, a binding hole .5 in diam. By analogy with other goads, there was a similar hole at the other end. The rowel was made to revolve.

The two were exactly alike, & apparently a pair.

Fastened one end to nose-strap, other to saddle, to prevent horse turning.
