3 (Cont) also with fastening hole sideways. These varied in length from 103 - 70. Position of hinge on the length varies considerably. Hinge of bronze (see diagram E). Ungilt band at either end & on each side of fringe. Extra fastening holes in gilt part, varying apparently with each bar. Tongue end of these probably fitted to slots in upper rim of Canopy. Here they may have been permanently fixed. For transport purposes the bar would double up at hinge, and then the doubled bar turn over to top of canopy.

C. Flat bar see diagram. Purpose? Not decorated. F. Thin bars to connect outer ends of hinged bars(?)
