173  Alabaster (calcite) lamp upon a trellis work pedestal.

POSITION: Original. Standing beside south wall in south east corner of the tomb-chamber.

DIMENSIONS: Max. H. 51.4; Max. W. 29.5 centimetres H. of lamp 33.0; H. of pedestal 18.5; L. of do. 29.0; W. of do. 13.0 centimetres.

DESCRIPTION: A plain chalice-like lamp with flanking ornament of fret-work of the following device: Papyrus flowers supporting heh symbols upon a neb-sign which again supports the King's cartouche and a ankh. Both sides have the "reed of eternity" in outer margin. The cup of the chalice lamp is a composite one, it being composed of one cup fitted into another, having between them, on one of the walls, the following ornamentation in semi-translucent colours:- Front the King seated upon a chair faces to R; in front of him stands the Queen, facing to L., who offers to him the reeds of eternity. Above the King <>. Above the Queen <> Back two bands of garland ornament (1 top and bottom) and the following legend: <>.
