227 (e) Gold stick with blue glass knob.

1. Position Between outermost and second shrines. Standing on left (south) side of doors. In bag which contained group 225-230.

2. Dimensions L. 146.3 Diam. of knob 1.8: of stick 1.6 at top, tapering to 1.3. Diam. of ferrule at bottom 1.5. Length of ferrule 3.1. Length of knob 1.7.

3. Description Straight stick, covered its whole length with thick sheet gold. Bent round stick & edges soldered together, so finely that join can only been seen through a lens. At top a knob of lapis lazuli blue glass, with rounded top. Method of attachment ? At bottom a double ferrule of gold, put on separately, the bottom cap being .3 in width.
