237a SEAL AND CORD - from Second Inner Shrine (No. 237)

POSITION: Original. Upon the southernmost staple of the Second Inner Shrine (237) (see photo).

DIMENSIONS: (See note attached) about 25m/ms in length. <> Diam. of cord 4 m/ms.

DESCRIPTION: Clay seal bearing two seal-impressions fixed to the cord that closed the folding doors of the Second Inner Shrine (237) The devices upon the seal impressions comprise the "Jackal over nine prisoners" On the upper impression is the cartouche of the King <> above the Jackal On the lower impression there is no cartouche - (See note attached). These seals are without doubt the same as used for 238a

REMARKS: Saturated in solution of celluloid dissolved in amyl acetate
