307 Boat. Lucas' Notes

Painted & Gilt. Colours White, blue, green, red and canary yellow. Much fungus on gold, green, blue and white, especially on gold, practically none on red and canary yellow. Treatment Brushed with dry brush. Cleaned paint with benzine & soft brush and gilt with ammonia Consolidated string of steering paddles with duroprene Consolidated paint with celluloid solution. Consolidated gesso gilt with paraffin wax applied hot.

Blue Pigment Analysed specimen - is artificial frit. Green Pigment Not fully identified but not frit; possibly malachite
