310. MODEL BOAT (See 284, 306, 314, 273, 309, 287) 1

POSITION: S.E. corner of chamber; placed on other model boats upon the black shrine-like chests; bows towards the west.

DIMENSION: L. overall (i.e., the longer axis of the boat) 115.5; Max. beam 17.5; Max. depth 7.5, cents. Cabin: L. 27; W. 13.5; H. 13. cents.

DESCRIPTION: Represents a carvel-bulit boat, with stem and stern pieces, main deck; central cabin; overhanging forecastle and poop decks with 'look-outs'; and paddle steering gear upon crutches and cross-beams. Made out of a log of wood; the stem and stern pieces of separate pieces of wood; shaped and planed with an adze. No thwarts (or cross-ties) are shown. The two ends (stem and stern) rise in a curved line and end with blunt ends <>. They also form under the bows and stern a ridge like a keel-piece which gradually melts into the slightly flattened round bottom of the boat. Bulwarks 1.2 cents high; show a main deck of 61 cents. in length
