337. WOODEN KIOSK CONTAINING SHAWABTI-FIGURES

POSITION: Lying upon a mass of miscellanea, immediately below the threshold of doorway of chamber; resting on stones from the blocking of the doorway that had been forced in by the tomb-plunderers. This shows that the kiosk had been cast there after the plunderers had entered the chamber (see photo No. 1135). DIMENSIONS: 61 cents. high, 22 cents. wide, and 20.5 cents. deep.

DESCRIPTION: Wooden kiosk upon sledge, covered with black resin, rough workmanship, vaulted roof (lid) made out of one piece of wood, on front of roof and front of kiosk a knob for cord and seal - the seal, a double impression, (Anubis over the nine alien foes) still adhering to the top of roof but cord gone. CONTENTS: 10. Quartzite shawabti-figures (see 337, A to C). 23. Miniature agricultural implements (see 337, D).
