350 SHIELD (See Nos. 379, A and B, 488, B, which belong to
this type of shield) 

POSITION: Piled on chair No. 351 and under stool 349, S.E. corner of chamber (see photos Nos. 1136, 1141, 1149 and 1150).

DIMENSIONS: Max. L. 83. 5; Max. W. 57.0 (approx) cents.

DESCRIPTION: An open work shield, made of wood, covered with gesso and gilt. The device comprises the King completely enveloped in a rishi (feathered) winding sheet (after Osiris) seated upon a throne. He wears the <> crown, holds the crozier-sceptre and flagellum. The throne rests upon <> symbols. On either side of the King the <>-symbols, <> flagella, and <> columns, the whole device surmounted by the winged-solar-disc. An inscription in front of the King reads: - <> giraffe sic Specimen badly broken and warped. Nos. 350, 379 A and B, and 488 B from a set of four.
