370, TT. GROUP OF ARROWS

A group of 42 'footed' arrows of 'chested' pattern, i.e. the 'footed' shaft tapered from the commencement of the 'foot' to 'pile'. L. of arrows, 52.5 cents. They are made as follows: -

Bronze 'pile' tanged <> 2.0

Tapered hard wood foot with tang. <> 13.5 cents diam. 0.65 cents.

Parallel reed shaft 35.5 cents long (average diam. 0.65 cents) Three feathers 7.0 cents long. <> Bound with narrow strips of thin hide ornamented with colours and painted. Some have a band of plain yellow in centre of 'foot'.

Tanged 'nock' of hard wood <> 1.5
