Handlist description: Wine-jar

486 WINE-JAR

POSITION: Lying on floor along the E. wall (about centre) of chamber (see photo 1142).

DIMENSIONS: Max. H. 62.5 cents. (seal broken).

DESCRIPTION: Buff pottery wine-jar; two loop handles; seal (top broken & missing) covering neck (see photo). Bears impression of seal - (see type D) - top of seal missing. Bears hieratic docket on shoulder - (see photo). Hole on side (near handle) covered over with plaster.

REMARKS: The lower part of the seal certainly agrees with the type D but the upper being missing it is not certain whether it belongs or not.
