POSITION: Cast on top of miscellanea near W. wall centre of chamber - (see photos 1144).

DIMENSIONS: Max. L. 34.2; Max. W. 27.0; H. 20.5 cents.

DESCRIPTION: A (? travelling) footstool; of box type; of inferior wood; gilt; inlaid with faience (blue) and calcite. Has two bronze staples on each end, to the front ones which leather straps were attached and passed through the back staples for attachment to (?) something. The back of the stool flat and undecorated, showing that it was fixed to something by means of the above mentioned leather straps. Form: - Cavetto cornice and torus moulding; sides (except back) show slight batter; has (false) bottom 8.5 cents. below top edge, upon which was attached, by means of tapes at the four corners, a cushion of linen stuffed with feathers (geese); the cushion, 30 x 22 x 13 cents. had perished beyond restoration.
