517. WOODEN KIOSK CONTAINING SHAWABTI-FIGURES

POSITION: Lying on side, lodged on the further end of bow-box No. 370, and under a number of wooden boats, S. End of chamber (see photo. No. 1144).

DIMENSIONS: 61.5 cents. high, 21 cents. wide, 20.5 cents. deep.

DESCRIPTION: Wooden kiosk upon sledge, covered with black resin, rough workmanship, vaulted roof (lid) made out of one piece of wood. Knob on front of roof and on front of kiosk for cord and seal - only a portion of the seal remained. The impression was the usual jackal-like dog Anubis, recumbent and over the Nine Alien Foes.

CONTENTS: 17 shawabti figures of wood painted and gesso-gilt (see 517, A to H). 98 copper miniature agricultural implements (see 517, I).
