522. LID OF A SMALL BOX

POSITION: Among miscellanea towards W. wall opposite doorway of chamber - (see photo 1144).

DIMENSIONS: L. 27.4; W. 24.6; cents.

DESCRIPTION: Lid of a small box; ebony frame-work; three panels of a dark red-brown wood with borders of ebony and ivory strips; knob in front missing, sides of lid inlaid with ivory; battens underneath to fit onto box.

REMARKS: In very bad condition only temporarily waxed.
