POSITION: Cast behind miscellanea N.E. corner of chamber (see photos 1146 and 1148).

DIMENSIONS:

DESCRIPTION: Shield, made of wood of light nature, covered with gesso, overlaid with a thin hide on which stiff yellowish hair still adheres in many places. Border of gesso, tinted yellow, with <> ornament delineated in red. Central panel of plain gesso, tinted yellow, embossed and outlined in red the prenomen and nomen of the King. A pair of holes at top and on both sides of border, also a similar pair of holes in centre of back which do not pierce the gesso of central panel. The shield in section is curved. <>
