POSITION: Lying under a mass of miscellanea S. end of chamber (see photos 1150, 1151)

DIMENSIONS: Max. L. 70.0; L. of shaft of handle 51.2; L. of 'palmate' 18.8 (including capitulum); W. of palmate 7.5 cents.

Ornament: 'palmate' bark, green leather and gold-foil; 'capitulum' bark; end of stock including knob bark & gold. In all three cases the ornamentation has been enhanced by coating of a red material (see 596, d).

The palmates of these fans have always two pieces of wood of pliable nature to hold the feathers in place.
