620-52 Small Scimitar

Treatment Cleaned metal in a preliminary manner by means of dilute (10%) sulphuric acid and afterwards with ammonia, then washed well with water. Wood inlay of handle cleaned with damp sponge Gold bands on wood (which were taken off) cleaned in flame of spirit lamp, as it was found that ammonia was without effect
