620-80 Red Pigment in Shell (Bivalve)

This is red ochre. The pigment was partly covered with decayed leather that had been viscid and had dropped on to the surface, to which it adhered. This was removed. The pigment is in two pieces which have the outer edges rounded and has manifestly been used. Dimensions of Shell. Length 5.9 cms Breadth 3.0 cms
