48. Group of Staves and bows

Position Laid on Bed 47 Not carefully arranged, but placed carelessly and hurriedly on the bed, lying criss-cross. Original position?

Group consisted of A. Four staves with captive figures as crooks (a-d) Three of them (a, b, c) were loosely fastened together near lower end by a strip of cloth, circ. 1.5 wide, wound round several times. B. Straight stick with gilt top (e) C. Double compound bow, bandaged round (f) D. Four pairs of compound bows, bandaged around in pairs (g, i, k, j) E. Compound bow, decorated with gold and inlay. This bandaged round by itself (h.) F. Simple bow (l) G. Straight stick with ivory top (m).
