A Cut at end to fit to axle. B. Very thick coating of gesso, covered with gold, round joint groove for frame of body. C. Plain gold on very thin gesso. On outer edge strip of applied thicker gold, 1 wide, with rope and scroll pattern. D. Plain wood E. Plain gold on very thin gesso. At beginning strip of same applied gold. F. Melted leather from stay thongs, which must have twisted round several times. G. Plain wood. H. Plain gold on very thin gesso. Applied band missing. I. Covered with leather. In centre hole for yoke peg.
