3. Description (Cont.) These ring triplets were .7 apart and .7 wide. Underneath foot a coating of gesso. This must have been covered with metal, probably bronze, as one of them had two large bronze pins near centre. Crossbars, 2 in diam., swelling at ends, were covered with gesso, overlaid with gold (?). Sam details Peg holes for these under seat & at top of cross bars, but nothing left of actual material.

4. Treatment Removed superficial dust by blowing and soft brush. Washed wood where bare (i.e. parts of legs) with damp sponge. Treated with hot melted paraffin wax.
