256, BBB. Finger Ring

POSITION: Upon third finger of the left hand

<> 2.35 lunar disc and crescent. Horus ?the King or Atum upon sacred barque

of gold upon a blue glass or lapis lazuli foundation. (Note: the glass or stone had completely decayed - in its place I have put some ultramarine pigment.).

here on both sides of loop the cynocephalus ape with hands upraised adoring and the lunar-disc & crescent upon its head = Thoth.

inlaid with lapis

Size of loop: from top of bezel to exterior of loop 2.75.
