334. MODEL SHIP (Funeral pilgrimage) with rigging and sail. 1

POSITION: Lying on floor near N.W. corner of chamber; much damaged by the intruders who threw members of the chariots upon it.

DIMENSIONS: L. overall (i.e. longer axis of the ship) 108; max beam 19.5; Max. depth 8 cents. L. of main deck, 76 cents

DESCRIPTION: Represents a carvel-built ship, of reed-float form; stem pointed; stern split into a crutch to receive a single long steering paddle.

Made out of a log of wood shaped and planed with an adze.

It represents a boat somewhat of the reed float form; the stem and stern ends rising in a curved line; has bulwarks 1.5 cents high showing a main deck space of 76 cents long; no forecastle and no poop decks;

no thwarts or cross-ties are shown.
