barks and applied minute gilding, which border a long hieroglyphic text of applied gilded hieroglyphs.

REVERSE: The scheme of design of the reverse side of the bow-case is precisely the same as on the obverse, save for the following variations and additions: Central panel of embossed gold: - a third and different kind of hound to the two slughis; no wild beasts in field. L. and R. panels of veneered barks: - the ibex are spotted; and a new kind of hornless antelope is depicted - its species is unknown to me.

Treatment: - Brushed; cleaned with benzine; fed with 'thirds' (copal, linseed and turpentine); afterwards coated with celluloid dissolved in amyl acetate, with a final coat of parafin wax.
